MedTerm Translator is a Microsoft® Word add-in tool designed to translate terms from MedDRA® (Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities), the internationally standardized medical terminology defined by the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH).
This tool enables accurate translation of MedDRA terms contained in Word documents into the required language, based on the specified MedDRA version.
In the pharmaceutical industry, many forms and reports contain MedDRA terms, and the applied MedDRA version is typically noted in footnotes or similar references. When translating such content, it is essential to ensure that terms are translated accurately according to the specified MedDRA version. However, this process—along with its quality control (QC)—is often complex, time-consuming, and labor-intensive.
MedTerm Translator was developed to reduce the workload associated with these tasks. By automatically recognizing the applicable MedDRA version and performing translations accordingly, it supports greater efficiency in translation work and improved accuracy in quality control (QC).
The latest MedDRA dictionary is automatically retrieved and applied—no manual updates are required by the user.
