eLink Maker is a Microsoft® Word add-in tool designed to support the creation of external hyperlinks required during eCTD compilation. By using this tool, users can reduce the manual workload involved in hyperlink creation and help prevent missing or incorrect link settings.
In pharmaceutical eCTD compilation, external hyperlinks between leaves (PDFs) are typically created manually by identifying both the source and target documents visually, then using PDF editing tools or compilation systems to insert the links.When document authors and compilers are different individuals, locating the correct source location can be time-consuming, and there’s a higher risk of mistakes or omissions in the link settings.
eLink Maker was developed to address these challenges. It allows users to pre-identify external link locations in Word documents and provides usable linking information for downstream compilation tasks.
This approach significantly improves the efficiency and quality of external hyperlink creation.
Automatically identifies potential external link locations based on search patterns and font colors. It can also detect common formatting errors, such as unmatched brackets highlighted in red.
Enables links to be set either to the top of the PDF or directly to matching content within the target document.
Automatically detects locations requiring updates or additions during document revisions (eCTD lifecycle) and enables link assignment only to the changed sections.
